Inspired by the rhythm and blues, soul, and folk artists that she listened to in her parents’ vinyl collection, Canadian singer-songwriter Nelle Thomas embarks on a solo career anchored by her smoky alto vocals and quirky commentary on life and love. Her debut album, Noise Rises, slated for release in September 2012, is a funky, soulful musical journey from the wine bar to the record store to the roadhouse and back again.
