About the Event

The Big Quit 

The "Big Quit," or "Great Resignation" is a post-widespread-vaccination phenomenon that is touching sectors from hospitality to engineering. Almost half of employees are looking for a new job or plan to soon, according to Cigna's 360 Wellbeing Survey, suggesting the pandemic-era phenomenon known as the Great Resignation is continuing into 2022.

The HR Committee will talk about how this phenomenon is affecting businesses in the UAE and what companies are doing to recruit and retain talent.

Nairouz Bader - CEO of Envision Executive Consultancy

Dr. Nairouz Bader serves her clients in the recruiting of Board of Directors, Chairmen, Chief Executive Officers, Division and Subsidiary Presidents and Vice Presidents. This broad base of commercial and business experience has covered markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Nairouz serves the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) as a board member and the Middle East and North Africa representative. She also serves on the AESC Board Committee for Emerging Markets. She served the Rotary organization as a board director, the Universal American School as a NED, and she is the (Official OSEC Expert) Human Resources international expert, certified by OSEC, Switzerland

Toneya Sarwar - HR Leader, Middle East & Africa & EMEAR Service Provider at Cisco

With over 15 years’ experience within Human Resources, Toneya currently supports two business units at Cisco; The Middle East & Africa Sales function and the EMEAR Service Provider organization. She serves as a consultative business partner and her passions are Leadership development, driving a courageous culture and promoting Inclusion and DiversityBorn and raised in the UK, Toneya completed her education with a Masters, in International Relations from the University of NottinghamToneya moved to Dubai in 2007. She is married with 3 children In her spare time, Toneya enjoys organizing charitable initiatives. She has her own podcast where she shares her life lessons through her poetry.

Belgin Ertam - VP of HR for Middle East, North Africa and Turkey at GE Middle East

Belgin Ertam is currently the Vice President HR for GE Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) She is focused in accelerating the leadership and talent growth together with driving the culture change in global markets and specifically in MENAT region. Belgin leads the HR council for the region and partners with the MENAT leadership team to execute Strategic HR priorities, working closely with GE businesses to position the organization for success. She has held roles in DHL Express, Microsoft and has been responsible for driving HR processes and initiatives across 175 countries for GE. Belgin is a graduate of Istanbul University where she studied Labor Law and Industrial Relations. She completed her education on Leadership at Harvard Business School. Due to her remarkable contributions as an HR practitioner, she has been awarded as one of the top 50 CHROs in Turkey by Fortune Magazine. Belgin is married with two children.
